The paintings are a culmination of many years of experimenting with the use of diluted oil paint, acrylic and ink printing mixed on canvas without the use of brushes. The thin layers of paint are build up and consolidated to produce astonishing effects of colour and texture.

The work is concerned with pure colour and within the genre of semi-abstraction. In this parallels can be drawn with the American artist Georgina O’Keefe whose renowned flower paintings are notable for their syntheses of abstraction and representation.
